  13. I have had a Frog 100e external 105Mb Rodime drive on my SE for around 10
  14. months and have been very pleased with it. I had a rather bad crash a few
  15. days ago that corrupted it, so I went through the following time-honoured
  16. ritual (because Disk First Aid couldn't repair it):

  18.     1. Attach the drive to a IIci at work with lots of free space on
  19.        the internal drive.
  20.     
  21.     2. Boot from the internal drive.
  22.  
  23.     3. Copy all the stuff (except the System) from the Frog on to the
  24.        internal drive.
  25.  
  26.     4. Format the Frog using the Frog utility.
  27.  
  28.     5. Copy all the stuff back using the Finder.
  29.  
  30.     6. Rebuild the desktop on the Frog.
  31.  
  32. I then checked the Frog using Disk First Aid 7.1. It found "invalid sibling"
  33. problems, so I repeated steps 4-6 again.

  35. I then ran Disk First Aid about 10 times. Around half the time it found no
  36. problems, the other times it found a variety of different problems (which I
  37. didn't allow it to fix).

  39. Norton Utilities cannot find anything wrong with the drive and it seems to
  40. work just fine.

  42. I called Frog technical support. They suspect a problem with Disk First Aid,
  43. but promise to replace the drive if it goes wrong in any way during normal
  44. use.

  46. Does anybody out there have a *clue* what might be going on? Could it be
  47. something funny to do with the driver?

  49. This kind of weirdness is enough to put me off buying another Mac!
