- I bought a PLI TurboFloppy 1.4, used, for my Plus. Hooked it into the SCSI
- chain, and it worked right away. Still going....
-
- It was built with all the necessary firmware on board to handle mounting funny
- Mac disks for computers that aren't savvy. For Apple SuperDrive compatibility
- it's great. It needs an INIT, however, to let it work with DOS Mounter
- AccessPC/PC Exchange. Without the INIT, you're stuck with Apple File Exchange
- No big deal.
-
- I might mention that when I called PLI to inquire about AccessPC compatibility
- they were the absolute model of customer service and support--not unlike H-P.
- They directed me to their BBS. A quick call, a quick 8K download, and I was
- all set.
-
- Note that PLI makes both the TurboFloppy and the SuperFloppy. The TF can read
- write, and format IBM 720K and 1.44MB, and Mac 1.4MB. The SuperFloppy does
- all that plus adds Mac 800K compatibility--perhaps a plus in many replacement
- situations.
