- We are trying to develop an accounting system for our Marine Resources
- Dept., a small internal department that ships out marine specimens. We
- would like to have several Filemaker files; a inventory/specimen file, and
- an invoice file. The invoice file can perform lookups from the specimen
- file to fill out ordered animals. Where I am stuck is that I would
- (ideally) like to be able to deduct from the inventory file when an animal
- is shipped on an invoice. In other words, if I put 2 animals on an invoice
- in the invoice file, it should be able to automatically deduct 2 from the
- inventory file. At present, the only way to do this is to manually open
- the inventory file and manually edit the field. Is there any way to
- automate this process? I guess the bottom line request is if there is any
- way to modify one filemaker file from within another?
-
- Any suggestions are most appreciated.
