- 1) It is a system extension that enables programs that you run to
- produce synthesized human speech. Only programs that know how to
- use Macintalk will benefit. Microsoft Word (as far as I know) won't
- benefit from your having Macintalk in your system folder.

- could buy 'The Talking Moose' from one of the mail order outfits.
- The Talking Moose ships with Macintalk. It's a DA that pops up on
- your screen and says something using the Macintalk synthesized speech.

- if it's shipping commercially with 'The Talking Moose' that it does.
- No publisher in his right mind would distribute software these
- days that isn't system 7 compatible.
