- Hy everyone,
-
- I have a SHARP 6781 notebook for about 6 months now. It has a 386SL
- processor with 20Mhz, 80 MB HD and 2 MB RAM. And this is where the problem
- starts:
-
- The following programs are installed on my notebook:
- - Windows 3.1
- - Winword 2.0
- - Excel 4.0
- - Powerpoint
-
- It takes about 40 sec. to start MS Draw in Winword
- It takes about 1,5 min to start Powerpoint
- It takes about 1 min to start Winword.
- ...
-
- A friend of mine has a COMPAQ Contura (with 25 Mhz and 4 MB RAM) and is a
- lot - I mean a lot - faster than I am.
-
- Is it the additional 2 MB or the 5 Mhz that makes his computer so much faster?
- Of course it has to be both, but:
-
- How much difference in speed are an additional 2 MB or even 4 MB of RAM.
- Is it worth buying the additional memory or should I step back from investing
- anything in this machine.
-
- Thanks for any help - please reply by email.
