  14. I have an AT&T Safari laptop computer (official issue :-) and would like
  15. to find out some info about the built-in display controller ---- specifically
  16. its SVGA capabilities.  I use it with an external monitor (CRT345), and
  17. according to the rudimentary documentation which comes with the machine it 
  18. should be capable of 800x600 SVGA.   Does anyone know whose SVGA chip set
  19. is used (Paradise, Trident, Genoa, et3000, et4000, etc., etc.) ?

  21. I have Linux & X-Windows running in Mono VGA mode, but would really like to
  22. give the color X-Windows a try (purely as a learning experience).  UnfortunatelyI also seem to vaguely recall rumors of some kind of problem with this machine
  23. in SVGA mode (or anything beyond vanilla VGA).
