  12. I've done this, when I got my RT the same had happened. The way I did
  13. it was to use the 'maintenance/install' diskette, get a single-user
  14. shell, mount the root filesystem and edit the /etc/passwd file to 
  15. remove the passwd entry for root.

  17. My RT was running AIX 2.1.2 also. I only had a 2.2.1 install/maint disk
  18. but this worked fine. Basically if you can get hold of the floppy you
  19. should have no real problems.
