- The IEEE Student Branch at the University of Saskatchewan in association
- with:
- Hewlett Packard, Corvallis Division
- IEEE Canada
- Sparcom Corporation

- will be organizing and sponsoring the First Annual International HP-48
- Programmers Competition.

- Four distinct and separate categories will take place:

- 1) Secondary Educational Facilities (High School)
- 2) Open - User RPL Only
- 3) Open - User and System RPL Only
- 4) Open - Assembly, User, and System RPL only.

- This competition is open worldwide. You are encouraged to enter as many
- categories as possible. (see 6 below)

- Competition Rules (short version)
- ---------------------------------

- 1. Submissions must be the author's own works. Submissions based on,
- including, of using others code will be disqualified. Submissions
- must include a list of any text references that are used, or human
- references (teachers/professors/friends/co-workers) that are used.

- 2. Any tools can be used in order to make the System or Assembly
- sections of submissions. (ie SASM, RPLCOMP, <-RPL->, Class,
- Star ...) This code must clearly identify what tool (and tool
- version) was used. If you need access to a development tool contact
- the below address. I can tell you where to look.

- 3. Submissions must include all source code, and an executable.
- Submissions must be in electronic form. (either via email or
- smail on floppy disk)

- 4. Problems will be posted/emailed/smailed out approximately the
- beginning of March. Submissions will be due in two weeks.
- Submissions recieved after this date will not be eligible for
- the contest. IEEE Student Branch is not responsible for lost or
- misdirected entries.

- 5. System RPL code must use only SUPPORTED ENTRIES on a rev E machine.

- 6. High School Students are encouraged to enter additional catagories as
- well as catagory 1. Submissions for catagory one are eligible in
- catagories two, three, and four. Submissions for catagory two are
- eligible in catagories three and four. And submissions for catagory
- three are eligible in catagory four. You are asked only to submit
- one entry per catagory.

- 7. Judging will be done be done on a totaly objective scale. Some
- mathmatical rating scale based on size or speed (or a combination
- of both) will be included with the problem.

- 8. Problems and judging formula will be selected from a pannel of
- judges from the designers of the HP-48, from professional programmers
- of the HP-48, and HP-48 enthusiasts.

- 9. If you wish to be surface mailed the problem, please respond to this
- notice by March 1, 1993.
