  14. A week ago I posted message with a draft proposal for an advocacy section, which
  15. I suggested should be called comp.sys.atari.st.advocacy.

  17. Well I've had  10 positive replies, and most suggest the group should be just
  18. atari.advocacy.

  20. John Chu sent me a copy of an article posted by David Paschall-Zimbel which had a
  21. whole list of new groups. Sorry but I haven't got the time to do something like
  22. that myself.

  24. I replied to David but he hasn't mailed me back yet.

  26. I'm getting mail on this all the time, so I'll leave it until Friday and then if
  27. nothing else has happened by then I'll properly post my RFD to news.newgroups etc.

  46. This is a request for discussion on the creation of a newsgroup for
  47. debates about the Atari range of personal computers.

  59. This group will separate a section of discussion from the current
  60. newsgroup comp.sys.atari.st and atari.8bit.

  62. The discussion of advocacy currently takes up over 50% of the items
  63. in the atari.st newsgroup and so it is felt that the original
  64. purpose of the newsgroup is being left behind.
  65.  
  66. New users and people who need information about the Atari ST can
  67. continue to use the original group and would hopefully get more
  68. attention if there is less advocacy mail present.

  70. What a FAQ for this group could contain is also a matter for
  71. discussion.
