- A fairly low percentage of files are corrupt at the atari.archive site. That is
- because we make an attempt to test each archive BEFORE it goes into its
- respective subdirectory. As an example, I could not move three very
- interesting .LZH archive files into the Newitems directory because each and
- every one of them produced CRC errors ... one of these files was close to a
- megabyte in size. I can just imagine the e-mail we would get it you downloaded
- an FTP'd file that size to your ST at 1200 baud, only to find out that the file
- was corrupted!
-
- Until there is a UNIX-based version of unZIP that can handle all .ZIP files
- (and an ST-based version which can do the same ... I haven't checked out the
- latest STZip 2.1 file at home, yet), .ZIP archives are big trouble waiting to
- happen, at least on the Atari side of things.
