- Well, one possibility is that the HST doesn't support it. Not all HST
- Duals are v.32bis. A large number of them are only v.32 even though they
- have 14.4k HST they're only 9600 when connecting to CCITT (?) protocols.

- And if THAT's not the problem (you can tell a v.32bis Dual from a v.32bis
- Dual by the initial tone it makes when it answers, BTW.. 9600 is a steady
- tone and the v.32bis has a bit of a 'warble' to it.. or perhaps I'm
- imagining it?) then its probably just that v.32bis is more sensitive to
- line noise and sometimes a 14.4k connect will fail but dropping down
- to 9600 (more noise tolerant) works. ATNS37=9 I believe to force 9600
- only.
