  12. I am coding a QWK reader called TRead, and having tested it with a local
  13. SBBS I have one question. In a packet downloaded from the BBS, all messages 
  14. written with an offline-reader have 0 in the reference field. Now my program
  15. sets the reference field to the number of message this one is reply to 
  16. (fantastic sentence... :) And when I upload the reply-packet I sometimes
  17. get the message 'Duplicate message'. This seems to happen if I reply to a
  18. message that someone else has already replied to.
  19. So what is the meaning of the reference field? Should I just leave it blank?
