  12. I've been trying to use Bars and Pipes Pro (version 1.0e) which I bought
  13. about six months ago along with the Creativy Kit, the internal sounds
  14. kit and the Pro Studio Kit. I'm running the system on an A2000
  15. with 5 Megs of RAM (1 Meg Chip), KS2.04, and all software is
  16. on the hard drive. The MIDI interface is the original AMAS
  17. device.

  19. I've since found the program to be incredibly slow, irritating
  20. to use, lacking in basic sequencer features (such as a full soft
  21. MIDI THRU mode), unreliable in sending MIDI CLOCKS (the
  22. timing shown on external devices wobbles around drastically),
  23. crashes accassionally (especially with accidental MIDI loops),
  24. and the screen layout is particularly bad. You can't even save
  25. your preferences to a startup file! The worst aspect of the
  26. program is the number of glitches you recieve in the incoming
  27. MIDI data, and they're very hard to edit out (the Quantize)
  28. tool seems to have problems deciding where to Quantise), and
  29. step entry of chords is a joke - you can watch them flop onto
  30. the screen like a slow arpeggio!

  32. Since I paid lots of $$'s for this, I expected more (much more),
  33. particularly after all the hype it's recieved in this Forum.

  35. Now, before I switch to an Atari ST (I'm that desperate!), I want
  36. to know if Dr T's KCS II 3.5 is any better. I need:
  37.  
  38.     - Fast editing of Note data
  39.     - Proper SOFT MIDI THRU capability
  40.     - Reliable timing
  41.     - Good real time entry - no glitching.
  42.     - No crashes or GURU's for normal program operation.
  43.  
  44. Any suggestions ?
