- I am not sure I understand everything Kris is saying, not ever
- having used nroff/troff - but I defend his right to say it :^)
-
- Seriously: Keep in mind that the novice is more likely to need the
- information in FAQ, so, while structuring it for ease of
- maintainance, don't make it difficult for dummies like
- me to get at it. If it is published periodically as in
- the past, I have no argument. If there is an optional
- format that makes it easier to print a useful hard copy,
- OK.
-
- BUT -
-
- IF publishing is streamlined into a more compact form
- that requires uncompressing or use of some esoteric (to
- the novice) technique to make it useful/readable BE SURE
- TO PUT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUCH "UNBUNDLING" IN AS
- SIMPLE A FORM AS POSSIBLE AT THE VERY BEGINNING. (I'm
- sure everyone has joked about the unpacking instructions
- that are packed in the very center of the carton. DON'T
- put the instructions for getting or using FAQ **IN** the
- FAQ :^)
