- That one is either the last or second-to-last time
- I remember seeing Helen post in this group.
-
- Now, concerning that long-ago message:

- : | ACTUALLY, Kris has a good point here. It would probably not be a bad
- : | idea to gather together a lot of the 3b1 folklore in a nifty little
- : | formatted Users Guide type of thing. After all, very little of it is
- : | any more likely to become obsolete than the machines already are, right?
- : | It'd be very useful for new users, and I don't think I'd mind replacing
- : | my 3b1 notebook section of lpr'd news articles and mail messages with
- : | such a document, either.
- : |
- : | Does anyone else think this might be worth the effort?

- Well, time to ask that one again. I still think troff-sourcing
- the FAQ is a good idea. I'd also suggest that we maintain it
- in pieces, and RCS the pieces -- or at least track dates and
- revision numbers. Some things find their way into the FAQ and
- fall incredibly out of date (osu connection info once did, and
- may still be), repair places, hardware upgrades available, etc.
-
- I'd think we maintain the FAQ, assemble the pieces and nroff to post,
- and let RCS keep track of the update times of the individual questions
- (and last updater). We probably could reasonable divide the work up
- that way, too.
-
- Finally, I'd suggest a new organization for the FAQ, or at least
- separating out a new section on available hardware / software upgrades,
- a section on project status (what ever happened to Mondo Combo, anyway?)
- and one on what patches/fixes should be applied to a "modern" 3b1/unixpc.
- (Like the recently posted wmgr, for example).
