- I am a new khoros user, using khoros installed on a Silicon Graphics Personal
- Iris 4-D. The operating system is Irix v4.1
- I am encountering some similar problems to those found in the "Frequently Asked
- Questions" (FAQ), namely
-
- FAQ #30 - Editimage fails for zoom and annotations and replies with the same
- error message as in FAQ.
-
- Upon checking my default visual using "xdpyinfo" it also turned out to be
- class: Pseudocolor
- depth: 8 planes
-
- Now FAQ #31 states that the X server supplied by Silicon Graphics does not
- support the 24 bit Read/Write Direct color visual- so I can't change that.
-
- Another interesting problem is that some editimage features (window/threshold,
- colormap) work under strange conditions similar to FAQ #33, that is
-
- : view an image in editimage; get 8 bit Pseudocolor display
- : shrink editimage subform so Pan subform appears
- : when the cursor is moved in the Pan subform the correct greyscale image
- appears and also will be affected by window and thresholding
- : when in the Pan subform all other windows lose their colors as in FAQ #33
-
-
- So my basic question is can I get editimage and all its features to run on my
- system to display and annotate 512x512 8 bit gray scale images?
