  11. We are almost at wits end with QMS and our recently-purchased QMS PS 1700.
  12. On two different interfaces it will occasionally stop printing a page and
  13. start printing bit-patterns.  This is even with the input-stream sensing
  14. feature turned off.  QMS's technical support will take messages ad-infinitum,
  15. but nobody will ever get back to you.  And the fax-line for help yields
  16. the same result.  We didn't have this problem with a demo unit that QMS
  17. brought to our organization last summer.

  19. Anyway, in case we have to force our salesperson to take the unit back, can
  20. you offer any recommendations for 17ppm printing?  Our requirements are:
  21.  
  22.       - As "standard" Adobe PostScript level II as possible.  The HP
  23.         LaserJet-III with the Adobe cartridge, for instance, balks at some
  24.         of our PostScript that works fine on Apple-manufactured printers.
  25.       - 16 MB of memory
  26.       - 17 ppm printing
  27.       - Duplex paper-handling if possible
  28.       - Availability of an Ethertalk (not TCP/IP) interface.
  29.       - A fairly large paper-input (say 500-1000 pages)

  31. Any suggestions or advise on our bit-pattern problem will be appreciated.
