- We are almost at wits end with QMS and our recently-purchased QMS PS 1700.
- On two different interfaces it will occasionally stop printing a page and
- start printing bit-patterns. This is even with the input-stream sensing
- feature turned off. QMS's technical support will take messages ad-infinitum,
- but nobody will ever get back to you. And the fax-line for help yields
- the same result. We didn't have this problem with a demo unit that QMS
- brought to our organization last summer.
-
- Anyway, in case we have to force our salesperson to take the unit back, can
- you offer any recommendations for 17ppm printing? Our requirements are:
-
- - As "standard" Adobe PostScript level II as possible. The HP
- LaserJet-III with the Adobe cartridge, for instance, balks at some
- of our PostScript that works fine on Apple-manufactured printers.
- - 16 MB of memory
- - 17 ppm printing
- - Duplex paper-handling if possible
- - Availability of an Ethertalk (not TCP/IP) interface.
- - A fairly large paper-input (say 500-1000 pages)
-
- Any suggestions or advise on our bit-pattern problem will be appreciated.
-
- Thanks.
