  12. I have a copy of DeScribe BoldGold (3.0); using an NEC Silentwriter
  13. 95, a PostScript device, OS2 2.0 GA release.

  15. This combination appears to be rasterizing rather than downloading
  16. fonts. It is behaving okay with the "normal" set of fonts, but not
  17. with other Type 1 fonts. They display correctly, but are *not*
  18. printing correctly: they appear as bit-mapped graphics = ugly.

  20. Is this normal? Is it a function of OS/2's printer driver? Is a more
  21. recent PostScript driver available? (And rhetorically, why would
  22. someone design a driver in such a manner?)

  24. My experience to date with OS/2 & printing has been with WordPerfect
  25. 5.1, both DOS and Windoze, relying upon their own resources for
  26. printing via the null driver.
