  16. The Reception (which is indeed in that timeslot) is constitutionally
  17. protected :-) and absolutely nothing is scheduled opposite it -- even
  18. the Terminal Room closes during that timeslot.  The idea is to give
  19. everyone a timeslot when they have no excuse not to go and mingle.

  26. It's a compromise.  There is far too little time available for the BOFs as it
  27. is.  Many people who come only for the technical sessions arrive Tuesday
  28. afternoon, so Tuesday-evening BOFs are not totally unreasonable.  BOFs are
  29. part of the informal interaction at the conference, which is much more
  30. important than sitting watching the speakers; the conference starts Tuesday
  31. evening for all practical purposes.  You just have to allow for this.
