- I still need your help. I have been working on a UNIX gopher for
- a few weeks, gopher by itself works fine , and waisearch by itself ( not as part of gopher), also
- works fine. The problem occured when I try to search indexes using gopher, it seems that the
- server ( either gopher or wais) , is going int infinate loop. I added a logfile to wais server which I run under
- inetd, and got a very suprising errors:
-
- 1485: 5: Jan 21 09:05:21 1993: 2: Done handling client
- 1491: 0: Jan 21 09:05:59 1993: 1: Accepted connection from: miles.library.arizon
- a.edu [128.196.228.11], WAIS release 8 b5
- 1491: 1: Jan 21 09:05:59 1993: -1: Error in interpret_message: unknown APDU type
- .
- 1491: 2: Jan 21 09:05:59 1993: -1: Error in interpret_message: NULL writePos.
- 1491: 3: Jan 21 09:06:58 1993: 2: Done handling client
-
- can anyone help me please, do you know what the hill is this APDU stuff is?
- also this might help: When I did the MAKE INSTALL, I received the following warning
- when making gopher server with waissearching:
- ccp: warning... /usr/include/system/param.h: MIN redifined
- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++: MAX redifined
-
- And here is the environment:
- DEC 5000, with ultrix 4.2
- gopher1.03
- wais-8-b5,
- I created a symolic link to ir and ui and bin from top gopher to top wais
-
-
- I m pleaing for help from all the good guys in gopher world. Please send
- messages to :
