- First off, let me do some introducing of myself, then, of course, I
- am going to have to badger you ARC/INFO experts for help (if there is a better
- place to be to badger ARC/INFO'ers, let me know). Well, the question
- actually is pretty general, so I guess this is the place to ask it...

- description)

- I have been slowly and painful learning the GIS ARC/INFO, which we have
- installed locally. I am now slightly proficient at some things, but it
- is a shallow knowledge. I have been mesing around with the public domain
- DLG's available through spectrum.xerox.com, and have been trying to use
- ARC/INFO data conversion software on release 6.0.1 to convert them once
- I ftp the site and get the DLG's I need. Howevr, when I go to do the
- conversion, I get something like: Premature E-O-F in file, terminating.
- Seems that the ARC/INFO conversion program sees an E-O-F somewhere in
- the file, but I am no expert on the construction of DLG's or the conversion
- algorithims. Anyway, if anyone has ideas, let me know... I have tried
- lots of stuff... like picking up optional format instead of standard and
- trying the ftp in ascii instead of binary...
-
- Many thanks in advance!
