  11.         First off, let me do some introducing of myself, then, of course, I
  12. am going to have to badger you ARC/INFO experts for help (if there is a better
  13. place to be to badger ARC/INFO'ers, let me know).  Well, the question
  14. actually is pretty general, so I guess this is the place to ask it...

  21. I have been slowly and painful learning the GIS ARC/INFO, which we have
  22. installed locally.  I am now slightly proficient at some things, but it
  23. is a shallow knowledge.  I have been mesing around with the public domain
  24. DLG's available through spectrum.xerox.com, and have been trying to use
  25. ARC/INFO data conversion software on release 6.0.1 to convert them once
  26. I ftp the site and get the DLG's I need.  Howevr, when I go to do the
  27. conversion, I get something like: Premature E-O-F in file, terminating.
  28. Seems that the ARC/INFO conversion program sees an E-O-F somewhere in
  29. the file, but I am no expert on the construction of DLG's or the conversion
  30. algorithims.  Anyway, if anyone has ideas, let me know... I have tried
  31. lots of stuff... like picking up optional format instead of standard and
  32. trying the ftp in ascii instead of binary...
