  29. Billing collect calls without authorization appears to be a fairly
  30. prevalent problem.  My daughter had an ATT Call Me (sm) with the old
  31. style number (713 498 xxxx pppp).  After getting tired of $2.50 (or
  32. more) local payphone calls, I changed the card to one with the new
  33. style number which AOSs cannot bill against (If I can't talk her into
  34. using a SWB phone, force her ;-) ).

  36. Hah ... some of the AOSs, not to be denied, just silently converted
  37. the call to collect.  I didn't have collect/third party blocking at
  38. the time so I don't know if this would have affected the billing.

  40. I never succeeded in arguing the phone company out of any of the
  41. collect charges.

  43. PS: Once she got her own number and card and phone bill, she started
  44. paying attention when I grumbled about AOS ripoffs.
