- The "multiplexer" in this picture is an ordinary terminal server.
- Your BBS server has a point to point ISDN link that's running TCP/IP.
- The "C.O." is an Internet service provider who has rented you the
- use of their modems for incoming calls, so that when you hit their
- dialins you can not only say "msen" but also perhaps "mybbs". You
- have no modems on site, just an ISDN line, and you're reachable only
- from the Internet.

- Could be done right now - the problem is that asking someone else to
- own and operate your modems is more eepensive than doing them yourself;
- that most X.25 service providers with big banks of modems (Sprint,
- Compuserve) are in the dark about IP; and that we still don't have
- the point-to-point ISDN link down pat.
