- I have wasted a *lot* of time getting the Supra v.32bis/fax modem to
- work with my home-grown fax software. I get random hangups and and
- handshaking failures all the time. I've finally come to the
- conclusion that the supra is just junk.
-
- (Similar hangups and connect failures happen in data mode, so its not
- just bad firmware in one part of the modem.)
-
- I now have a ZyXEL 32bis/fax modem and it works much more reliably.
- My one gripe is that the "class 2" standard that it conforms to is
- vastly different from the "class 2" that the Supra conforms to.
- (Mainly the modem's "+REPLY" strings are vastly different.) I have no
- idea which one is conforming to the more current version.
-
- Get a better modem, or if you are writing the fax SW as for a product
- think about not supporting the Supra. It just isn't worth the
- aggravation.
