- I have uploaded to WSMR-SIMTEL20.Army.Mil:

- VISCII11.ZIP VISCII and VIQR 1.1 standards, in VISCII
-
- Vietnamese International Standard Code for Information Interchange
- (VISCII) is an 8-bit superset of ASCII, allowing full encoding of
- Vietnamese in precomposed form. VISCII has been designed for maximum
- compatibility with existing MS-DOS, MS-Windows, Unix and X-Windows
- software, allowing Vietnamese to be used with most existing software
- packages.
-
- VIQR (VIetnamese Quoted-Readable) is a 7-bit visual encoding scheme
- which allows Vietnamese to be transmitted over 7-bit electronic networks
- and mail channels, as well as to be readable on ASCII terminals.
-
- This file is a VISCII text file describing the standards. It can be
- viewed using:
-
- * DOS VISCII-compliant editors such as: VNELVIS, BUTVIET, or
- utilities such as "more," "less" and most DOS text editors
- running under VIETDOS.
-
- * MS-Windows 3.1 MS-WRITE, MS-WORD, etc., with WINVNKEY
- running in the background.
-
- The file can be printed out using:
-
- * On DOS: VIETDM (dot-matrix printers), VLASER 2a (laser
- printers), VPRINT (both laser and dot-matrix printers)
-
- * Most MS-Windows 3.1 editors using VISCII TrueType fonts.
-
- NOTE: BUTVIET, VIETDOS, VIETDM, VLASER, VPRINT, and WINVNKEY are
- available in the same archive directory. The VISCII TrueType fonts are
- supplied with WINVNKEY and VIETVU, also available from your archive.
-
- Questions about these standards should be directed to the Viet-Std
- working group (viet-std@haydn.stanford.edu), 1212 Somerset Drive, San
- Jose, CA 95132, USA.
