- Wait, Tom, maybe John has something here. We were always under the
- impression that Newfoundlanders who voted
- for Confederation in 1948 mostly did so out of disgust with the
- previous way our country was run. MAybe, just maybe, the RCMP (acting through
- their secret Newfoundland operative Joey Smallwood) was
- behind a mass brainwashing/hypnotism of the Newfoundland people to
- make them think they were really thanking MacKenzie King for
- convincing the Privy Council to go with Newfoundland's interest's over
- Canada's in 1927. Maybe John could even write a thesis on this
- exciting new concept in revisionist history.
