  27. Wait, Tom, maybe John has something here. We were always under the 
  28. impression that Newfoundlanders who voted 
  29. for Confederation in 1948 mostly did so out of disgust with the 
  30. previous way our country was run. MAybe, just maybe, the RCMP (acting through 
  31. their secret Newfoundland operative Joey Smallwood) was
  32. behind a mass brainwashing/hypnotism of the Newfoundland people to 
  33. make them think they were really thanking MacKenzie King for 
  34. convincing the Privy Council to go with Newfoundland's interest's over 
  35. Canada's in 1927. Maybe John could even write a thesis on this 
  36. exciting new concept in revisionist history.
