  46. Here are figures from the 1986 census.  In that census, 20 % of
  47. households received a "long form".  One of the questions asked
  48. on that form was (roughly) "What is your ethnic origin?"  Multiple
  49. responses were allowed.  The following  are the percentages who
  50. gave a "British" response to this question, either as a single
  51. response or part of a multiple response.

  53. BTW, British includes Irish, as well as English, Scottish, Welsh,
  54. and "Other British", whatever that is (Manx?).  Irish nationalists,
  55. flame StatsCan, not me.
