  10. Preparation and Review of Engineering Geologic/Seismic Reports for
  11. Hospital and School Sites in California, February 27, 1993, in Newport
  12. Beach, California; and March 13, 1993, in Oakland, California.

  14. As California's population continues to grow, so does the need for
  15. hospitals and public schools.  To help expedite the geologic review
  16. process and encourage public safety in the development of these
  17. essential facilities, the Department of Conservation, Division of Mines
  18. and Geology (DMG), in cooperation with the Office of Statewide Health
  19. Planning and Development (OSHPD) and the Association of Engineering
  20. Geologists will present 1-day workshops in northern and southern
  21. California on the preparation and review of engineering geologic/seismic
  22. reports under the Health and Safety Code (for hospitals) and the
  23. Education Code (for schools).  The workshops will focus on requirements
  24. of Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), including
  25. discussions of site-specific considerations related to fault hazard
  26. evaluations, slope stability, liquefaction, seismically induced
  27. settlement, and ground motion estimates.

  43. check, made payable to the Association of Engineering Geologists, to the
  44. coordinator of the session you plan to attend.
