  10. The California State Water Resources Control Board has announced
  11. open - statewide examinations for Engineering Geologist and Associate
  12. Engineering Geologist.

  14. THE FINAL FILING DATE FOR THESE EXAMINATIONS IS JANUARY 29, 1993.
  15. APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN THE FINAL FILING DATE.

  28. In brief, the engineering geologist class is an entry level class
  29. requiring the equivalent of graduation from college with major work in
  30. geology, engineering geology, or a closely related field.  (Geological
  31. experience may be substituted for the required education on a
  32. year-for-year basis.) (Registration as a Senior in a recognized
  33. institution will admit applicants to the examination, but they must
  34. produce evidence of graduation or its equivalent before they can be
  35. considered eligible for appointment.)  Salary: Range A -- $2651-3048;
  36. Range B -- $3035-3659.

  38. The associate engineering geologist class requires the above education
  39. plus additional qualifying experience (as outlined in the announcement).
  40. Salary: $3577-4313.

  42. You may apply for both examinations on the same application form if you
  43. meet the requirements for both.
