  15. Sometime a year or two ago, a writer posted that he had submitted
  16. a journal article about how quakes 'creep up the Calaveras til they
  17. get a fairly big quake at Livermore, then the quakes start at the
  18. south end of the Hayward and begin to creep northward and get bigger.'

  20. That was, I vaguely recall, a conclusion from watching animations of
  21. quake sequences on a map.  I kept hoping to hear more; does that notion
  22. ring any bells for anyone?
