  14.       Is ther any NT beta (october) user that has encountered the error
  15.   "cannot find NTLDR".  I have be having the problem for the last few days.
  16.   What are the most important files in the root of the C drive that I could
  17.   have over wrote when I restored my old HD.

  19.       Oh ya.  I am running NT on a shared DOS partition.  The machine has
  20.   more than enough memory and disk space.

  22.       I FTP'd a boot workaround disk and now I can get into NT and DOS from
  23.   floppies, but when I try to run most of the WIN16 programs it give me an
  24.   error about my AUTOEXEC.BAT.  Does any only have any suggestion?

  26. The file NTLDR is the boot file for Windows NT.  You probably have
  27. installed with the "dual boot" option, so when you boot, a small
  28. program prompts you whether to jump to the NT or DOS boot file.  You
  29. seem to have deleted the NT boot file.  I would try to reinstall NT on
  30. your disk.

  32. I would think that even if you have deleted NTLDR you would be able
  33. boot DOS using the dual boot loader.  The Win16 programs are probably
  34. looking for AUTOEXEC.BAT on the boot floppy.  You might try copying
  35. the one from your hard disk to the boot floppy (after backing
  36. everything up).
