- Subject: Expanded memory with PC-SAS

- I recently installed PC-SAS version 6.04 on an IBM PS/2 L40SX with
- a 386SX processor and 4MB RAM. PROC ANOVA and PROC GLM work fine
- but when I try a moderately large factorial model in PROC GLM I get an
- insufficient memory message. From the instructions in the SAS/STAT
- manual I calculate that this problem should require about 1.2 MB of RAM.
- I use HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.SYS as memory managers and I've tried this
- problem with both 512 K expanded memory and with 2048 K expanded memory.
- Can PC-SAS use expanded memory for PROC GLM's matrix manipulations?
- Any suggestions on ways around this problem would be gratefully received.
