- Instead of a hardware solution (either built-in or a cartridge), I have
- been using a piece of software called Laser Plotter to get HPGL out
- of a Laser Jet II. The advantage that I found with Laser Plotter is that
- it allows you to map the HPGL color selection to gray scales, giving
- nice looking gray-scale fills on polygons. Also, with a PC with a very fast
- CPU, the bitmap conversion from HPGL is quick (and in the background
- if you are using Windows, etc.).
