  12. Instead of a hardware solution (either built-in or a cartridge), I have
  13. been using a piece of software called Laser Plotter to get HPGL out
  14. of a Laser Jet II.  The advantage that I found with Laser Plotter is that
  15. it allows you to map the HPGL color selection to gray scales, giving
  16. nice looking gray-scale fills on polygons.  Also, with a PC with a very fast
  17. CPU, the bitmap conversion from HPGL is quick (and in the background
  18. if you are using Windows, etc.).
