- Hi there,
- This is my first post to this group, so please give me pointers if I have
- done this wrong!
-
- I've worked with Pagemaker (PC) now maybe a whole 2 hours....most of it
- spent correcting a document that was left behind by someone who resigned.
-
- This document is the wierdest thing going - I can make a change to the
- text on one page, and have repercussions on several other pages in front
- and in back of that page, and elsewhere on the page where the change was
- made. Yesterday I modified a centered page title and inserted ", 1C " in
- the middle of the line - this change (which didn't cause any word wrap,
- etc. to occur) caused a bar at the bottom of the page to revert to "Page
- 1" where it had been changed a couple weeks ago to read "Page 1 of 14".
-
- I can open it one time and get a certain font, open it again - without
- touching the fonts, and have something else show up. Or open up the
- document and have the paragraphs become un-aligned at the bottom of the
- page.
-
- I'm just curious if any of you have some thoughts about how this document
- might have been assembled in order for these types of things to occur. I
- keep trying to convince the person who requested this document that the
- problems appear (from my point of view) to be an incorrectly assembled
- document. The (ex) employee who created the document has been telling
- everyone that it is bugs in the software.
-
- I just have a hard time believing that so many people could be using a
- software application like PC Pagemaker - if you can't be sure from time to
- time what will happen when you open up a document that you are working on!
-
- Any thoughts?! Thanks in advance for your time!
