  13. This is my first post to this group, so please give me pointers if I have
  14. done this wrong!

  16. I've worked with Pagemaker (PC) now maybe a whole 2 hours....most of it
  17. spent correcting a document that was left behind by someone who resigned.

  19. This document is the wierdest thing going - I can make a change to the
  20. text on one page, and have repercussions on several other pages in front
  21. and in back of that page, and elsewhere on the page where the change was
  22. made.  Yesterday I modified a centered page title and inserted ", 1C " in
  23. the middle of the line - this change (which didn't cause any word wrap,
  24. etc. to occur) caused a bar at the bottom of the page to revert to "Page
  25. 1" where it had been changed a couple weeks ago to read "Page 1 of 14".

  27. I can open it one time and get a certain font, open it again - without
  28. touching the fonts, and have something else show up.  Or open up the
  29. document and have the paragraphs become un-aligned at the bottom of the
  30. page.

  32. I'm just curious if any of you have some thoughts about how this document
  33. might have been assembled in order for these types of things to occur.  I
  34. keep trying to convince the person who requested this document that the
  35. problems appear (from my point of view) to be an incorrectly assembled
  36. document.  The (ex) employee who created the document has been telling
  37. everyone that it is bugs in the software.

  39. I just have a hard time believing that so many people could be using a
  40. software application like PC Pagemaker - if you can't be sure from time to
  41. time what will happen when you open up a document that you are working on!
