- Northwestern has responded to this issue by running two gophers, one "closed",
- called NUInfo, the other "open", which is the gateway to the world's
- gopherspace. The NUInfo gopher will, we anticipate, point to other gopher
- servers on campus which are similarly "closed", or at least limited. The
- concern about opac/gopher access has been strong here. At present we have
- separate terminals (not what I'd recommend), but that's partly a function of
- having separate SNA and ethernet networks around here. A library gopher
- server still in development here points to the Michigan State gopher for
- electronic journals. What I think is a real interesting gopher to look at,
- which has both library and computing center involvement, is INFOSlug at the
- Univ. of Calif, Santa Cruz... very well organized.
