  13. Thank you Leigh, Jim, Colegate and all the others that have offered
  14. suggestions for enhancing the VSE JCL.  I agree with Leigh that the
  15. time spent on supporting NOTIS at our site goes up with each new
  16. release, mainly in reconstructing the JCL.  Since I also am
  17. responsible for all the programming for the Registrar, Academic
  18. Advisement and all aspects of Academic Affairs offices I have little
  19. time to spend on NOTIS and I depend on the notes from NOTIS-L and
  20. experiences of others to help me through.  Back many releases and
  21. fixes in the past NOTIS provided a list of STANDARD LABELS for VSE
  22. sites that included what SYSxxx were used in some what of a inconsistent
  23. manner.  I do not recall seeing this list in any of the latest
  24. documentaion.  NSI's standard labels did not conform to our set of
  25. standard labels and modifications had to be made.  At least with
  26. the old list when a job failed because of an invalid device assignment
  27. I could check the list to see what type of assignment was needed.
  28. Unfortunately I no longer have that list.
