- I am hoping some one can answer the following question based on experience
- at your individual libraries. Our database load was done under LBC30 (5.0).
-
- Notis User's Guide: Cataloging and Authorities (pg. 200) states that following
- about Copy Status Code: 2 = multivolume, incomplete and 3 = multivolume,
- complete and that 2 should be changed to 3 when publication complete or ceases.
-
- Our OCLC records loaded under LBC30 as follows:
- Bib lvl: S (serials) Copy Status Code = 2 (whether or not there was a
- volume holdings field on the record)
- Other MARC formats Copy Status Code = 1 (no volume holdings on
- record, even if title was a multipart) or 3 (volume holdings on record, even
- if publication was complete.)
-
- Are there any implications if Copy Status Code 2 is used only for serials
- (complete and incomplete) and 3 is used for all other multipart titles
- (complete and incomplete)? We will be changing code 1 when we add our volume
- holdings, but are debating about whether we need to use 2 or 3.
