- I am forwarding the following information from another list. It looks like a
- good resource on health care policy and management issues. Too bad, it is no
- longer free, and it is not cheap, either.

- An APN publication
- Supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
-
- WHAT IS HEALTH LINE?
-
- HEALTH LINE is a daily, ten-page executive briefing on the American
- health care policy debate.
-
- Americans have shown deep concern about the future affordability and
- availability of quality health care in the U.S. A national consensus is
- forming demand change -- rapid change -- but there is no consensus about
- what form that change should take.
-
- To forge a national consensus and to bring about meaningful reform,
- the nation's policy makers and opinion leaders need a reliable and
- impartial source up-to-date information. That source is HEALTH LINE.
-
- Like The HOTLINE, and APN's other news briefings, HEALTH LINE "covers
- the coverage" -- filtering and analyzing that day's published news from all
- 50 state both news and commentary on local, regional and national
- developments.
-
- Five things to know about HEALTH LINE:
-
- 1. It is published by APN Inc. with support from The Robert Wood
- Johnson Foundation.
-
- 2. It is published Monday through Friday and delivered
- electronically (free of charge) to opinion leaders in media,
- politics, government, business interest groups and foundations.
- It is also available as an electronically searchable database for
- media/policy research.
-
- 3. Its editorial staff is directly familiar with the issues; its
- Contributing Analysts represent expertise in every area of the
- health care issues debate.
-
- 4. It expresses no editorial opinion of its own and carries no
- advertising. It is not propaganda. It will encourage progress
- toward rational health care policy not by advocacy, but by
- keeping steady focus on the agenda -- reporting, sharing,
- highlighting, and featuring news from the campaign trail, the
- state capitals and Washington.
-
- 5. It benefits from APN's news collection and publishing experience
- in daily subscriber briefings on American politics, the
- environment, education and the abortion issue.

- An addendum to the American Health Line information. I recieved a call
- from Tim Krakat, the editor of American Health Line this week. As of
- March 1, the charge for AHL will be $1200 annually. The Robert Wood
- Johnson Funding ends on that date.
