  14. D. SAMUEL GOTTESMAN LIBRARY, ALBERT EINSTEIN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

  16. Under the direction of the Systems Manager the new appointee will work
  17. with the cataloging staff handling copy and original cataloging of
  18. materials in the general collection, in the major hospital affiliate's
  19. collection and in the Einstein Archives.  Knowledge of NLM/MeSH, LC/LCSH,
  20. and AACR2.  Experience with a major bibliographic utility and an automated
  21. system including an OPAC.  Some archival experience preferred.  Reference
  22. desk time required.

  24. The library along with Montefiore Medical Center's Library utilizes the
  25. Library Information System (LIS) developed by the Dalghren Memorial
  26. Library at Georgetown University.  The cataloging department currently has
  27. l professional and 1.5 FTE support staff.

  29. Requirements: Master's Degree from an ALA accredited program or
  30. equivalent.  1-2 years experience preferably in an academic or health
  31. science library.  We seek an Individual who can function in a team setting
  32. and/or independently as required.

  34. The D. Samuel Gottesman Library of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine
  35. supports the programs of the Medical School, the Sue Golding Graduate
  36. Division and the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.  The library
  37. functions in a  dynamic research environment with a diverse user
  38. population.  The College of Medicine is located in a residential area of
  39. the Bronx easily accessible by public transportation and by major highways
  40. from the 5 boroughs, and the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut suburbs.
  41. Parking is available.  Salary from $27,000.  Faculty status, 22 days
