- Karen -- The only experience I've had with focus groups comes from those
- set up by publishers to gather information to help them better in the
- market place. Harper Collins asked me to participate in one at MLA; the
- topic was "the future of the printed handbook." Members in this case could
- not volunteer since Harper initiated it and had their own critera (I think
- you had to be terribly smart and good looking). But I don't think there are
- "rules" about this. I'm sorry but I don't remember the name of the woman
- who set up the Harper Collins session. You might try calling them.
