  13. Karen -- The only experience I've had with focus groups comes from those
  14. set up by publishers to gather information to help them better in the
  15. market place.  Harper Collins asked me to participate in one at MLA; the
  16. topic was "the future of the printed handbook."  Members in this case could
  17. not volunteer since Harper initiated it and had their own critera (I think
  18. you had to be terribly smart and good looking).  But I don't think there are
  19. "rules" about this.  I'm sorry but I don't remember the name of the woman
  20. who set up the Harper Collins session.  You might try calling them.
