  16. read donna tartt's book last fall after the globe and mail (canada's national
  17. newspaper) gaving it a glowing review. i found it a compelling read, and a very
  18. impressive debut. i did, however, have a number of editorial problems, and felt
  19. that she could have used a decent editor to separate the chaff.
  20.         ie- the epilogue: should of been completely removed except for the
  21.         final page, a brilliant and mesmerising passage.

  23. your observations on the appearance of the book are so true. a more sumptuously
  24. constructed book i have yet to see.
