- I think this discussion is very fruitful and lies at the heart of
- many professionals' concerns as they consider investing scarce resources (both
- time and $) in the Internet.
- Two thoughts: It is interesting to me that Nancy Herrington cites
- the excellent article in ONLINE, which focuses on accessing Dialog, OCLC etc.
- on the Internet, while in the same day's messages Sharyn Ladner, describes
- this focus as missing the point. Is this a major advantage of the Internet
- in reference or not? I guess the jury's still out.
- Sharyn Ladner talks about the networking of experts "people
- resources" as the real reference motherload on the Internet. I tend to
- agree, but wonder when the newness of the Internet wears off, whether or not
- the electronic Rolodex will still be as fruitful as it is currently.
