- Here's my penny!
-
- If your campus does not have access to the INTERNET, then you can
- always try and get an account from some other university or consorcium,
- even so, you can "buy" an account from a ".COM" or ".NET" machine somewhere.
- The thing is to get an account, one way or another ... this then would
- mean (in terms of hardaware) only a modem and a PC.
-
- Once in the INTERNET you can have access (this is so far what I have been
- able to access) to the following important Reference services:
-
- * DIALOG, BRS, COMPUSERVE via gateways
- * RLIN (wow a plus)
- * OCLC EPIC with all their db additions
- * BIOSIS and the Life Science Network
- * All sorts of Educational ERIC WISE services.
- * FAXON, EBSCO serial jobbers/services
-
- And the list will probably or is probably longer!
-
- I think INTERNETing is a valuable treasure chest for Reference Services.
