- library professional to design, promote, implement, and administer
- public services including reference, serials, and inter-library
- loan.

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MLS; two years of library experience
- related to public services; one year of experience with library
- automation. Demonstrated management, planning, and interpersonal
- skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the
- ability to maintain effective working relationships with all
- members of the College community. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Subject expertise in music; reading knowledge of Ancient Greek or
- French; broad background in the liberal arts.

- JOB DESCRIPTION

- JOB TITLE: Associate Librarian for Serials & Public Services
-
- NATURE OF DUTIES: Designs, promotes, and implements public
- services to meet the unique needs of the college community
- including research, referrals, database services, training of
- student assistants in reference work and the creation of finding
- tools and instructional aids. Maintains and develops reference
- collection including review, appraisal, weeding, and
- recommendations for purchase. Manages serials collection,
- including ordering, receiving, maintaining, storing and organizing
- current serials and serial records. Responsible for vendor
- relations and correspondence, claims, billing, statistics, reports,
- and advising on selections and withdrawals. Provides interlibrary
- loan services through bibliographic resources, direct contact and
- appropriate databases and services to verify, locate and obtain
- monograph and serial requests; manages files and statistics;
- analyzes and solves problems; plans at the program and project
- level; and performs related duties as required.

- DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Associate Librarian for
- Serials & Public Services is an experienced professional who

- and interlibrary loan.

- 1. Masters Degree in one of the Humanities, or a Masters Degree
- in Library Science.

- One year of experience with library automation.

- ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all
- members of the college community. Interest and willingness to
- participate in ongoing professional training and development.
