- A 3270 transform program is a software protocol converter. It transforms
- an ASCII terminal data stream to a 3270 data stream in roughly the same
- way an IBM 7171 terminal controller does.
-
- Simware markets a 3270 transform program for MVS TCP/IP under the name
- SimTCP/IP. I don't know whether there is a VM version of the program
- available.
-
- I recently installed the MVS version for a test period. It is now possible
- for people with dumb terminals (or PCs that emulate dumb terminals)
- connected to terminal servers to establish telnet (not tn3270) sessions to
- the MVS system and log on as 3270s.
