  13. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps show the location of individual buildings
  14. indicate names and widths of streets, shape and construction of
  15. buildings, property bounderies and building use. They were
  16. originally produced to assist fire insurance agents to determine the
  17. degree of hazard associated with a particular property. They show
  18. this information for many cities at different periods of history.
  19. Many libraries own a microfiche edition.
