- Please make sure that however large the class is, that you have
- enough teaching or graduate assistants on hand who can adequately
- shoulder the workload without any disadvantages to the professor,
- the TA or the students who have registered for the class.
- Many years ago, I was a graduate assistant to a professor who had
- had two survey civilization courses with a combined number of over
- 120 students. The professor gave over the period of the semester
- six essay exams, and I had to grade all of them by myself! In addition,
- study sessions were held by me periodically. All of this, plus struggling
- to keep abrest of my own studies. While I enjoyed helping the students,
- this was one person who was very happy to see the semester end!
