  14.      Last year, our school system developed and adopted a
  15. comprehensive plan for the use of technology for instruction.
  16. Because it was felt that teachers would use technology in the
  17. classroom only if they were proficient in its use, a primary
  18. emphasis of the plan is teacher training.  One of the objectives
  19. is the establishment of levels of competence in the use of
  20. technology for teachers and other staff.  We are now attempting
  21. to develop a list of competencies and are interested in seeing
  22. similar lists that are presently in use in other school districts
  23. or are used as part of teacher training programs in colleges.
