- Sigh...that article I'd posted sure prompted more replies (both public and
- private email) than I had expected. But I'll try to explain...

- I'm not saying that I'm a miscast or anything...it's just that because I
- can't read lips or speak very well, I can't participate fully in the
- hearing world. (I imagine that I still wouldn't be able to, even if I
- *culd* read lips.) I don't see hearing people as "THEMN" (as in "us versus
- "THEM"), though I have known many deaf people with that viewpoint.

- But yea, you're right...it *is* a diverse world. I would have to describe
- myself as a "cyberperson" more than anything, one who participates in
- a cyberspace. That's how I usually meet many friends (and boyfriends) --
- over the modem.
