  13. Hi, Julie!  I also am somewhat new to the list.  I am the Public
  14. Services Librarian at a small (1600 students) university library.
  15. Since we have only 4 full-time professional librarians (rest of the
  16. staff are all part-time work/study students), my duties include a
  17. wide variety of "departments" including circulation, reference,
  18. bibliographic instruction and occasionally helping out in
  19. interlibrary loan.  Yes, I do have my MLS, but I didn't when I
  20. started here some 18 years ago.  I think you will find from the
  21. replies you receive that this will vary greatly from institution to
  22. institution.  I feel it is essential for me to have my MLS, but then
  23. my responsibilities are so varied I'm probably not a good example.
